Notice
This blog is plainly for the soon-to-come online novel (made by yours truly), Sacrament of Oblivion: Absconding from Earth (The First Rite), as I cannot post this in my Multiply blog without compromising the other fictions as well as my own blogspace.
Once I have about twelve chapters done, I'll be begin posting it here, chapter by chapter. You could post some comments if you want.
Sacrament of Oblivion a science-fiction/fantasy/action story with a very elaborate storyline, composed of five episodes (aka rites).
The simplest synopsis I can make about the entire storyline is this:
Sacrament of Oblivion is about Ryan Krajal, the Elementalist, and his desperate quest to alter his own fate. However, this task isn't as simple and easy as it seems despite his being the most powerful being in the entire universe. He faces numerous adversaries, each of them fierce opponents, even for him. What do they want with him? What is the significance of their constant declaring of "you cannot escape your destiny"? Will the Elementalist succeed? Or will he die trying?
Here is the synopsis I can make for the episode I will post in this blog in the near future:
Christopher Borlaza is your average high school student from Ateneo—cramming, energetic, intelligent, and proud of his school's prestige and values. It's now in the middle of the school year of 2004~2005, when the school requirements become hectic even for the "honor boys" of the school. However, that is not Christopher's concern now. Lately, he's been having an ominous dream for the past two weeks, and it is always the same one. Every time he wakes up, bad omens await him in his room: heavy air, a bleeding and flipped crucifix, blood-spattered walls, and perhaps even the silhouette of a long-haired woman.
Meanwhile, in a futuristic city called Drusiana, the government is threatening to destroy it unless it responds to its demands: conversion of all non-Christian residents to Christianity and submission to their eternal domination. Sallera Xyphard, the High Priestess of Omnism—the predominant religion in the metropolis—recommends the governor to not opt for submission but rather, refusal, as the city is merely expressing its right to religion. Unfortunately, this simple rebuke plunges Drusiana into a losing battle against the government.
What is the meaning behind Christopher's nightmares? What could the subsequent omens possibly foreshadow? What shall become of the humble city of Drusiana? And how will its citizens respond to the horrors of warfare?
Feel free to post your reactions once I start posting. Negative and positive comments are welcome; these will point out the author's strengths and weaknesses in writing—creative writing, to be specific.
Please take note that the Prologue has six parts so it's extremely long; there's also a glossary of terms that come right after each chapter, even the prologue. These will be used to explain a few things that will not be expounded on in the storyline. An example would be the Pulse Engine, a projectile-propulsion system for firearms, much like the Piston System used by our guns in the 21st century. This would not be explained in detail during the course of the story and is better left off to "The Lexicon", aka the Glossary of Terms.
